Located next to the Montsouris Park in the 14th district of Paris, the Paris-Jourdan campus is a research and training campus welcoming students from l'Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) and Paris School of Economics (PSE). It is now open to students after 2 years of restructuring and extension works. The shutters were provided via ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions France.
Stainless steel for a luminous façade
Beyond their aesthetic function, the stainless steel shutters covering the façade bring light while protecting from the sun and ensuring privacy. They were provided byArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions France and their customer Blanchet-Métallerie du Forez.
The commercial team of Distribution Solutions in Lyon have been working for many years with their customer Blanchet-Métallerie du Forez, specialised in metal carpentry, and working with many metal products (beams, rolled products, steel tubes, etc.). The shutters of the Jourdan campus were constructed using polished stainless steel sheets 316L grain 220, measuring between 2750 and 7200 mm long and between 3 and 4 mm thick.
Professionalism leads to success
ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions France brought its expertise to prepare the specifications and execute the project. The sheets were closely monitored throughout all the steps:
Lastly, Blanchet-Métallerie du Forez assembled the sheets which were cut into panels with a wooden inner side. They did a trial assembly and made the final adjustments before delivering the shutters on site.
A rigorous preparation, regular controls and the teams’ professionalism made this project a success.
