From April 16 to 20, ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products, WireSolutions and ArcelorMittal Europe – Tubular Products all gathered in Düsseldorf (Germany) to participate in the Wire & Tube trade fair 2018, the world's most important trade fair for the wire, cable and pipe industry.
The event was a great opportunity for ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products’ Sales and Marketing teams from Bars and Rods and Sections and Merchant Bars to meet customers and prospects and to present their full services and solutions offer. They were also joined by the team of WireSolutions, who launched their new video during the fair.
The Wire fair is one of the biggest international fairs, it allows us to meet many of our customers in one place, to discuss with them, answer their questions and concerns and provide them with solutions. The fair is also a boost to discover and attract new customers interested into bars and wire rod business and to see how the industry is going forward.
ArcelorMittal Europe Long Products continues to invest in delivering high quality steel for the automotive industry which needs to reduce CO2 emissions through optimization of fuel consumption and weight. More specifically, ArcelorMittal Europe Bars and Rods offers specific and dedicated brand products like Freeform® for engine bolts and SOLAM® for forging grades.
Digitalisation was also one of the topics in the spotlight this year. We discussed future developments with customers, who were very interested in our solutions such as Net Steel, ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products’ customer dedicated web platform and EDI services to automate data flows from and to customers.
An evening event was organised for our customers on April 18, where they discovered ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products’ video and were able to discuss with our management in a more relaxed atmosphere. The event started with a speech of Augustine Kochuparampil, CEO of ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products who presented the important ongoing projects at Long Products.
In the same location but in a different hall, the team of ArcelorMittal Europe – Tubular Products (management, as well as plants and sales office representatives) was also meeting customers and prospects at the Tube fair.
This year, the teams of Condesa France joined them on the booth, following the buyout of the Lorraine Tubes mills. This integration of Lorraine Tubes (now ArcelorMittal Europe – Tubular Products Lexy) will reinforce our proximity to our customers by a better geographical footprint and an extended and improved product offer.
ArcelorMittal Europe – Tubular Products presented its latest innovations and developments. First, in automotive, with light weighting solutions, advanced and ultra-high strength steels and boron steels, then new coatings against corrosion, with the leader in this domain, Magnelis®, whose video was displayed on the stand, along withArcelorMittal Europe – Tubular Products’ new video.
The Tube fair is ArcelorMittal Europe – Tubular Products’ major event every two years; a great opportunity to meet existing suppliers and customers in one place to maintain the relationship with them, attract a new clientele, improve our presence and proximity to serve customers better and have an overview of how the industry is evolving.
ArcelorMittal Europe – Tubular Products organised an event on 18April, which has been much appreciated by our customers. During his speech, Jeyachandran Rajasekaran, CEO of ArcelorMittal Europe – Tubular Products shared with our audience our vision and the future and closer relationship with our customers.
Overall the Wire & Tube fair brought very positive feedback from visitors. They were able to learn about our new products and services and about the market situation. The mood this year was very positive as the market situation recovered, contributing to establish optimism and helping customers to make decisions.
Taking place together every two years, the Wire & Tube fairs are events of worldwide importance covering drawing and other process machinery, wire and wire rod with more than 1,300 exhibitors from 76 countries and 38,000 expected visitors for the 2018 edition.
Wire covers drawing and other process machinery and gathers key players of the wire and wire rod business. Tube gathers key players of the pipe industry and is thus the most important showcase for all professionals manufacturing, processing and using pipes.
