Tailored Blanks, a division of ArcelorMittal that produces steel blanks for the automotive industry, donated in April 3,800 KN95 masks (an equivalent of the better known FFP2 masks), from their existing stock to care homes located in the Gent area, in Belgium, where the division has its corporate office. When correctly used, these masks protect against the virus and are therefore also perfectly suited for use when treating COVID-19 patients. The decision was made after reading calls for solidarity published by the institutions in the local press and on social networks because they could not source masks for their patients and caregivers.
