ArcelorMittal at Stahlbautag 2016

Organised by Bauforumstahl, the 38th “Deutsche Stahlbautag” gathered around 800 experts and decision-makers on 6 and 7 October 2016 in Würzburg (Germany). ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products Sections and Merchant bars and Sheet Piling as well as Distribution Solutions had a joint booth at the event to show their latest products and solutions.

The different ArcelorMittal teams each had a precise objective for their participation to the event:

  • ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products Sections and Merchant bars promoted the S355 grade as a standard quality and outlined the potential of Eurostructures Beam Finishing Centre services for our clients.
  • ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products Sheet Piling put a special emphasis on the benefits of sheet piles solutions for bridge abutments.
  • ArcelorMittal Distribution GmbH, one of the most important steel trading players, presented its technical and logistics solutions to German customers. 

Visit of State Secretary Gunther Adler

The 2016 German steel construction prize and the special award for sustainable steel architecture were handed over by State Secretary Gunther Adler. In his speech, he explained: "It was important for us to emphasize the topic of sustainability in construction among all stakeholders. Sustainable steel architecture can provide excellent answers to the questions of resource efficiency or building flexibility."

2016 German steel construction Award goes to Ackermann architects

"The architecture firm Ackermann has written a piece of steel architecture history in Landsberg am Lech," stressed Dr.  Bernhard Hauke, spokesman and managing director of Bauforumstahl at the ceremony in Würzburg. Peter Ackermann accepted the award and presented the winning project.
