ArcelorMittal at Intermat 2018

At Intermat 2018, ArcelorMittal confirmed its ambitions in the field of high strength and wear-resistant steels. Flat and Long Products, as well as Industeel, joined forces and introduced their latest innovations. With an extended portfolio, new and innovative services, backed by an unbeatable geographical footprint, ArcelorMittal is becoming a key player in steel for cranes, transportation, yellow and green goods, mechanical engineering and sheet piling.

Lighter, stronger and more sustainable steel solutions

This year was ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products’first participation to Intermat, a great opportunity to showcase Amstrong® Ultra, whose range has been extended with three new grades: Amstrong® Ultra 700MCL, 900MCL and 960MCL. The new grades benefit from guaranteed mechanical properties including toughness in both the rolling and the transverse directions, good surface characteristics, flatness, bendability, weldability and exceptional durability.

One of the most outstanding features of the Amstrong® range is its dimensional feasibility, with steel grades available in widths up to 2000 mm and even more, an additional opportunity to reduce costs in terms of stock optimisation, productivity of the cutting line and reduction of the number of welds.

ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products and Industeel’s Relia® is an innovative range of high hardness, low-alloyed martensitic steels, offering outstanding resistance to wear and abrasion. Relia® grades are available in 3 nominal hardness levels 400, 450 and 500 HBW obtained through intense water quenching during manufacturing.

Despite their extreme hardness, the properties of Relia® plates are specifically designed for an improved workability including cutting, forming, drilling and welding to achieve any kind of applications and designs.

ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products: setting the benchmark in sheet piling

ArcelorMittal Sheet Piling presented its innovative AZ®-800 steel sheet pile generation, a more cost-efficient, extra-wide sheet pile range. Continuous research and development as well as close cooperation with customers for sheet piling solutions has led to the industrialisation of this optimised hot-rolled steel sheet pile range. Compared to the standard AZ®-700 range, further 10% weight savings and 14% faster execution times can be achieved, due to the increased width of the AZ®-800 sheet piles and the least number of elements required.

The new range of wider sheet piles is produced in the ArcelorMittal mill in Luxembourg which has a history of over 100 years in sheet pile production. The sheet piles are made from 100% recycled steel and can itself be re-used and recycled after service life.

In compliance with the ISO 14025 and EN 15804 standards, ArcelorMittal Sheet Piles benefit from an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

About Intermat

INTERMAT, the international exhibition for construction and infrastructure hosts 183,000 visitors and 1,500 exhibitors presenting an offer of equipment, materials and solutions for civil engineering and structural building works.

The construction trade show has adjusted its sector organisation to respond to visitor expectations and arranged the event around 4 activity sectors for optimal clarity : Earthmoving & Demolition, Roads & Minerals & Foundations, Buildings & Concrete Sector and Lifting, Handling & Transportation.
