ArcelorMittal at SIMI

ArcelorMittal took part in SIMI, the professional real estate trade fair, organised from 5 to 7 December 2018 in Paris. For the first time in France, ArcelorMittal presented its innovative concept Steligence® during a conference that took place on 5 December within the Connected Buildings & Territories Forum.

Steligence® in the spotlight

This year, on booth F132, level 3, ArcelorMittal introduced Steligence®, a new science-based tool to choose, from a holistic view, the best materials for sustainable and intelligent construction.

Steligence® considers buildings as integrated, almost ‘living’ entities, embedded in the urban environment. In this context, it suggests that broader and more transparent collaboration between architects, engineers and property developers is called for, to resolve the apparently competing demands of creativity, flexibility, sustainability and economics.

Built into the Steligence® approach is a broad range of steel products for construction which individually add value, but together represent a compelling portfolio with a range of defined benefits. Steligence® translates into a brochure, a website, a video, a white paper, a visual presentation and soon an app to transform the concept into BIM designs.

For the first time in France, Olivier Vassart, CEO Steligence® presented this new innovative concept of intelligent construction during a special conference at the Connected Buildings & Territories Forum.

Attendance at the fair was very strong, making it the ideal location for networking. The reception of Steligence® was positive and we even offered visitors a free evaluation of their project using the Steligence® methodology. We also discussed with many developers who had a strong interest for steel construction and taking as an example the D2 tower in La Défense.

SIMI, the landmark event in the real estate industry’s calendar in France

During the three days of SIMI, more than 30,373 persons and 467 private businesses and public organisations were in attendance. Together they provide a comprehensive representation of land and building opportunities and associated commercial property services.

The Connected Buildings & Territories Forum, organised during SIMI, is a fabulous opportunity for construction, energy and IT trades, as well as the property industry in general and local authorities, to harness the benefits of the technological revolution underway.

About 100 conferences and two plenary sessions were also organised during the event.
