At the end of September, ArcelorMittal Rails & Special Sections participated in InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin, one of the railway industry's leading international events, bringing together customers, infrastructure managers, partners and rail professionals from around the world.
The division was strongly represented by the Rails & Special Sections team and Tapas Rajderkar, Chief Marketing Officer of ArcelorMittal Europe - Long Products:
“I was pleased to attend InnoTrans with my teams and engage with customers and partners from across the railway sector,” said Tapas. “The positive outlook for rail infrastructure and the strong interest in our decarbonisation roadmap reinforce our confidence that steel will continue to play a central role in enabling more sustainable mobility.”
Through numerous customer meetings and industry exchanges, the event provided an excellent platform to discuss market trends, future rail investments and the evolving needs of the railway sector.

Customers highlighted encouraging opportunities across multiple markets and expressed confidence in the long-term outlook for rail infrastructure. Particular interest was shown in ArcelorMittal's decarbonisation roadmap and the progress of its EAF projects, which are expected to play a key role in supporting the sustainability ambitions of the railway and mobility sectors.
Supported by colleagues from Research & Development, the Rails & Special Sections team showcased ArcelorMittal's expertise in rail solutions, technical innovation and sustainability, while exploring new opportunities for collaboration with customers and industry stakeholders.
Over four productive days, InnoTrans once again demonstrated the value of direct customer engagement, industry collaboration and continuous improvement. The event not only confirmed the strong growth potential of the rail market but also reinforced ArcelorMittal's ambition to be the trusted partner of choice for the global railway industry.
