ArcelorMittal at Asia Pacific Rail

On May 11 and 12, ArcelorMittal Rails & Special Sections participated in Asia Pacific Rail, the event bringing together rail leaders from across the region to discuss the future of rail in Asia.

Hosted in Bangkok, Thailand, the event showcased how operators are innovating and transforming journeys, operations and processes to stay on-track. This year, it welcomed more than 1,000 attendees, 100 speakers, and more than 50 sponsors and exhibitors.

Reinforcing our commercial presence in Asia Pacific

For ArcelorMittal Rails & Special Sections the fair was a great opportunity to reinforce our brand in the Asia Pacific market and present our full offer for all railway markets. Around 150 visitors came to our stand to discover our full range of range of RailCor® anticorrosion rail coatings, and discuss different topics, such as the latest trends in rail and steel industry, the effects of the Covid-19 outbreak on supply chains and global market, as well as the impact of the current geopolitical situation and expected consequences in the near future.

Our presence at the fair was coordinated by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, and the day before the exhibition, the teams were invited to an official reception and dinner at the Spanish ambassador’s residence in Thailand – Mr. Filipe de la Morena Casado. Discussions involved interaction with key Thai railway industry companies and administrations representatives.

Emphasising sustainability and XCarb®

A conference was also taking place along the exhibition, where the decarbonisation of the railway industry and net zero rail were discussed. During meetings with clients and visitors, we highlighted the initiatives and steps ArcelorMittal is taking through XCarb® to lead the decarbonisation process.

Overall, the event was a good opportunity to meet our clients, build ties and catch up on the status of projects that are being developed in South East Asia area and beyond.
