Dutch steel decks now made with ArcelorMittal’s low carbon-emissions steel

12 April 2024

Staalprofiel, a Dutch joint venture between the Afix Group NV and SP Projecten, has a long-term experience in developing and producing customised steel profiles for a wide range of sectors such as construction, solar, automotive and the logistics sector, more specifically scaffolding for warehouses.

Staalprofiel has been buying ArcelorMittal’s Magnelis® coated steel for a couple of years now, be it for solar, racking or steel deck applications. Staalprofiel prefers Magnelis® versus the traditional post galvanised steels because of its outstanding durability and corrosion resistance properties , which is a strong asset for steel decks for scaffolding.

“Since I heard that ArcelorMittal now offers XCarb® recycled and renewably produced Magnelis®, I was immediately interested in this low carbon-emissions steel,” says Gerrie Roos, owner of Staalprofiel. “My customers are expecting sustainable solutions from Staalprofiel, and XCarb®  helps us achieve that goal. Complying with the Afix Group’s ESG policy, which is in line with the EU Green Deal, Staalprofiel encourages all initiatives that will reduce the carbon footprint of our operations and products.”

ArcelorMittal’s XCarb® recycled and renewably produced Magnelis® will be used for steel decks for scaffolding.
