It marks an important step for both companies on their journey towards net zero. The two companies announced a low-carbon emissions supply partnership at the Wire Fair in Dusseldorf, in April 2024.

The production of XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel uses only renewable electricity and recycled steel (scrap), and thus significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the products, which ultimately impacts their customers' supply chains – including SPAETER Oberhausen.

ArcelorMittal has a target to reduce CO2 emissions by 35% by 2030 in Europe and to achieve net-zero steelmaking by 2050. XCarb® recycled and renewably produced is one of our first products available on the market to support our net zero goal as well as helping our customers achieve their own CO2 emissions reduction targets. The SPAETER Group is pursuing a clear climate strategy and intends to distribute the low-carbon steel beams, which are primarily used in the construction sector for sustainable infrastructure and buildings, throughout Europe.
