From robust, CO2-reduced support structures for solar roofs to complete turnkey systems: ArcelorMittal presented its wide range of products to trade visitors at Intersolar, the world's leading trade fair for the solar industry, from 19 to 21 June in Munich. Over 1500 exhibitors and more than 115,000 visitors were expected to attend. While ArcelorMittal's flat steel segment presented support structures for solar panels in Hall A6, Stand 534, the experts from ArcelorMittal Construction showcased complete solar systems in Hall A6, Stand 139.
Focus on cost efficiency and durability
One particular focus at Intersolar was on corrosion protection for photovoltaic systems. When it comes to selecting materials for the support structures of photovoltaic panels, factors such as durability, maintenance costs and stability are of crucial importance. With Magnelis®, ArcelorMittal offers a proven, efficient material for rooftop systems that significantly extends their service life and also makes a significant contribution to the carbon footprint. With XCarb® steel, made from recycled material and produced with 100 per cent renewable electricity in an electric arc furnace, Magnelis® is an innovative product that saves a significant amount of CO2 emissions in the construction of photovoltaic systems. In addition, the use of low-carbon coated steel also helps with another important factor: cost savings. In times of industrial transformation processes, these are two key aspects that are becoming increasingly important for the solar industry.
Sustainable building solutions don't stop at the roof
The colleagues at ArcelorMittal Construction offer expertise in sustainable building construction. Corresponding roof solutions with photovoltaic systems, such as Helioroof or Ondatherm® Solar, are an integral part of the portfolio and play a major role at Intersolar.
Generating renewable energy, a shorter installation time and sustainable aesthetics: this is what Helioroof offers, an integrated high-performance steel roof with integrated silicon solar cells for power generation. And the mounting system Ondatherm® Solar offers a robust and reliable solution for installation of photovoltaic modules.
The ArcelorMittal Construction solar team was on hand to answer questions from trade visitors in Hall A6, Stand 139. Among other things, they discussed with visitors how ArcelorMittal's solar solutions can help customers achieve their own sustainability goals.
