Olint inspires customers to think in a sustainable way with XCarb^®

Olint, a major supplier of garden and house accessories in Romania, has become the latest business to purchase XCarb^® steel certificates from ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products. The company produces and sells products for roofing applications under the Rufster brand. Rufster includes roofing tiles, guttering, and other accessories which are typically made from organic coated Granite^® Quartz and Granite^® Ultramat from ArcelorMittal.

Passing on green steel certificates

“Olint has purchased XCarb^® steel certificates for 195 tonnes of Granite^® pre-painted steel,” notes Liviu Cusiac, CEO of Olint. “Normally this amount of steel would result in just over 400 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.”

Unlike other customers who use XCarb^® green steel certificates to reduce their own Scope 3 emissions, Olint will pass them on to Rufster customers. The goal is to inspire clients to make environmentally friendly purchasing decisions when buying roofing products.

“We want to actively involve customers in an effort to reduce CO₂ emissions across the industry,” says Liviu Cusiac. “All they need to do is place an order for Rufster products made with XCarb^® steel certificates! It’s that simple.”
