ArcelorMittal presented its innovations and latest news on automotive, corrosion-resistant steel, heavy plates, high strength steels, electrical steels and packaging. The fair was also an opportunity to present our low-carbon solutions, and share the progress of our XCarb® initiatives and steel offer.

Automotive: the power of less
At EuroBLECH we showcased our advanced steel solutions for automotive body-in-white (BIW), battery pack and chassis applications, demonstrating how ArcelorMittal is driving innovation and sustainability in the mobility sector.
The ArcelorMittal Multi Part Integration® (MPI) concept was a highlight of our stand, showcasing how we streamline vehicle manufacturing by integrating multiple vehicle parts into a single laser-welded blank (LWB). This innovative approach simplifies production while advancing sustainability through weight reduction and cost savings.
Usibor® 1500, produced with XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel, is a prime example of how we’re supporting the transition to more sustainable mobility. This steel is manufactured using high levels of recycled content and 100% renewable electricity via the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) process.
Meanwhile our MartINsite® steels, used for safety bumpers or to protect battery packs, will emphasize strength, durability, and reduced carbon footprints, reinforcing our commitment to safe and sustainable electric vehicle solutions.
Magnelis® extends its range and applications
Magnelis® is our first choice metallic-coated steel for corrosive and aggressive environments. Very popular for solar mounting structures, Magnelis® has hundreds of applications in industries such as building, electrical equipment, appliances, agriculture, transportation and infrastructure.
Year on year we continue to extend the range of Magnelis towards heavier coating weights & higher strength grades. Today, the Magnelis® ZM800 heavier coating – 65 µm, applied on both sides of the steel substrate – expands the range of applications of Magnelis® and offers a lifespan of 50 years or more.
As a consequence, Magnelis® is increasingly replacing traditional coating technologies such as regular and post-galvanising, zinc-aluminium alloys, and also pure aluminium, copper and stainless steel.
Magnelis® is available as XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel with a CO2 footprint reduced by 65% compared with the conventional blast furnace route.
Low CO2 footprint heavy plates
Since April 2023, ArcelorMittal offers XCarb® recycled and renewably produced heavy plates made from slabs produced via the electric arc furnace route, using a minimum scrap content of 95% and 100% renewable electricity.
These steels have a 65% lower carbon footprint compared with the conventional blast furnace route. The corresponding Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is available here.
Our XCarb® recycled and renewably produced heavy plates are already deployed in a wide range of industries, from offshore wind to civil engineering, contributing to the decarbonisation of projects.
We are the first producer in Europe able to manufacture low-carbon emissions steel plate in a wide range of dimensions and weights.
Ultra high strength steels in action at EuroBLECH
At EuroBLECH, our partner Liebherr exhibited a support plate made with Amstrong® Ultra 960MCL. An essential part of the overall structure of a mobile crane, the support plate plays an important role in safety and performance.
A real-life application of the recent development in our Amstrong® high strength weldable structural steels, Amstrong® allows the efficient use of material and the development of weight optimized components for maximum customer benefit.
Amstrong® Ultra 900 and 960 are now available in sheets from 4 to 8 mm and in widths up to 1650 mm. Additionally, 3 mm and 10 mm sheets are in development, as well as coils from 2.5 mm.
Depending on the grade, the Amstrong® range is available in widths up to 2150 mm, the largest dimensional feasibility on the market.
Our latest investments in stretch levellers in Bremen and Krakow allow the coils, sheets or slitted strips of our Amstrong® and Relia® product ranges to exhibit excellent flatness and surface properties combined with tight tolerances and excellent mechanical properties.
Electrical steels for automotive and industrial applications
The electrical steels team presented our extensive product range of products for both industrial and e-mobility applications, highlighting the importance of the latest investments in our electrical steel production facilities in Mardyck and Saint-Chély d’Apcher.
Moreover, we were there to discuss sustainability and learn about ArcelorMittal Europe’s investments in initiatives designed to reduce our carbon footprint by 35% by 2030. Our visitors could come and discover the opportunities available to lower their Scope 3 emissions through our XCarb® steel certificates.
Steel packaging solutions for today and tomorrow
We also showcased ArcelorMittal’s latest sustainability advances in our steels for packaging including our new Chromium-Free Passivation Alternative (CFPA) steel which eliminates the use of hexavalent chromium chemicals (also known as Cr(VI) or chromium 6) in the production process.
Moreover, we provided more details of our low tin coated steel (LTS) which can be used as in place of Electrolytic Chromium Coated Steel (ECCS). ArcelorMittal’s LTS solution is the only 100-percent Cr-free alternative already on the market.
ArcelorMittal Europe is also developing a range of Bisphenol-A Non-Intended (BPA-NI) coil coated products which are also free of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
