Bruynzeel Storage Systems and ArcelorMittal on a continuous journey towards ‘net zero’ CO2-impact

A good fit!

“Bruynzeel Storage Systems BV and ArcelorMittal have an excellent longstanding relationship. Both companies are on a continuous journey towards ‘net zero’ CO2-impact for their production processes and products. Culturally we have a good fit and we know each other quite well and supporting and helping each other in our journeys towards maximising sustainability,” explains Bart Sijben, Chief Operating Officer of Bruynzeel.

Bruynzeel - ‘The footprint reduction company’

“Sustainability is part of our DNA for a long time and Bruynzeel is known as ‘the footprint reduction company’. This not only means reducing the need of our customers in square meters but certainly also reducing their environmental footprint.

Steel is an essential component of our end products thus availability of steel is key. The characteristics of steel are hard to replace: steel is durable, flexible and easy to recycle, but making steel has a relatively high COimpact.

We want to accelerate our industry’s transformation in reducing its carbon print and we can make a big difference for our clients if leading steel producing companies like ArcelorMittal develop the highest standards in environmental friendly steel.

Bruynzeel is climate neutral in its own operations (scope 1 & 2) and committed to reach net zero (scope 3) by latest 2045. And the XCarb® green steel certificate we received underpins a fact-based back tracking towards our customers,” concludes Bart Sijben.
