ArcelorMittal at Infosteel’s Steel Construction Day

On 8 November, ArcelorMittal Europe took part in Infosteel’s Steel Construction Day, in Affligem, Belgium. This key event for the steel industry professionals was the opportunity for our company to showcase our products and solutions as well as promote our Steligence^® concept.

The place to be for the steel industry

Every year, the steel construction day is the opportunity to discover innovative products and meet important players of the steel sector.

This is an important event for ArcelorMittal, as the world's leading steel and mining company, producer of a wide range of construction solutions such as rebar, beams, bridge girders, flooring, roofing and cladding.

Several products were put in the spotlight with samples during the event:

• Granite^® Silky Shine, a pre-painted steel for facade systems with a high-gloss luxurious skin, produced by ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products
• ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products’ Angelina^®, a new generation of castellated beams for sustainable structures
• Promistyl^® and Promisol^® architectural panels as well as Mascaret^® and Chaotic^® profiles, all produced by ArcelorMittal Construction

Steligence^® in the spotlight

This year, we introduced Steligence^® a new science-based tool to choose, from a holistic view, the best materials for sustainable and intelligent construction.

Steligence^® proposes that buildings need to be considered as integrated, almost ‘living’ entities, embedded in the urban environment. In this context, it suggests that broader and more transparent collaboration between architects, engineers and property developers is called for, given that without it, the potential to resolve the apparently competing demands of creativity, flexibility, sustainability and economics is inevitably compromised.

Built into the Steligence^® approach is a broad range of steel products for construction which individually add value, but together represent a compelling portfolio with a range of defined benefits. Steligence^® translates into a brochure, a website, a video, a white paper, a visual presentation as well as a virtual reality application that attendees were able to try out during the event.
