Innovation is at the heart of architectural practices. ArcelorMittal Europe provides steel for roofs, facades and interiors, and with 1,400 researchers worldwide constantly innovates in the areas of sustainability, performance and aesthetics.
This is the reason why Architect@work selected 5 innovations from ArcelorMittal that were displayed at this event in London:
An enthusiastic audience
Architects, interior designers, office furniture manufacturers, suspended ceiling manufacturers, façade engineers and electrical engineers were among the many visitors who came to the ArcelorMittal stand. They had the opportunity to get up close to the samples of our innovative organic coated steel - Granite® Silky Shine, Granite® Quartz and Granite® HFX Cool.
They were keen to understand what types of cladding products could be made from our materials and their application in a building context. Architects, who are becoming increasingly interested in the wellbeing of building occupants, showed a lot of interest in Estetic® BioAir steel. Its very low levels of VOCs play an important role in improving the indoor air quality of buildings.
Future proof buildings
The theme for the Architect@Work was “FutureProof”, which perfectly fitted with our 3D Virtual Reality Steligence® presentation. One of the principal recommendations of our presentation is to encourage the use of clear span Angelina® beams to create flexible spaces that can be reconfigured thus extending the “shelf life” of buildings, or making buildings “FutureProof”! Moreover, ArcelorMittal had the only stand using 3D virtual reality and the feedback we received was very positive.
Steligence® is ArcelorMittal’s science-based methodology to compare, from a holistic view, the best-in-class materials for construction. Steligence® translates into a brochure, a website, a video, a technical white paper, a visual presentation and a virtual reality application.
