ArcelorMittal at Made in Steel 2019

ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products, ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products, Global Automotive, ArcelorMittal Europe – Tubular Products, Distribution Solutions, Industeel and Logistics all joined together as one during Made in Steel 2019, where they showcased our products and met our customers from the whole world to reinforce our position as the partner of choice for the Italian steel market.

The best edition since 2005

Made in Steel 2019 was an important event following ArcelorMittal’s acquisition of ILVA. ArcelorMittal has become the national leading steel producer in Italy, with Taranto being the biggest integrated steel plant in Italy and in Europe. Our steel products are used in different industry sectors across the Italian steel market (Europe’s second largest steel consuming market) and for European exports.

Matthieu Jehl, CEO ArcelorMittal Italia, attended the “Steel Vision: a global perspective” conference which took place in the afternoon of the first day. Interviewed by Siderweb Director, Mr. Lucio Dall’ Angelo, Matthieu Jehl has confirmed the commitments and investments to make Taranto the most technologically advanced and sustainable steelmaking hub in Europe.

The fair aroused great interest and was highly attended. This year’s edition has been the best since 2005 in terms of attendance. It was attended by 16,520 visitors, with an increase by 12.3% compared to the 2017 edition and with a marked increase in foreign attendance.

The different divisions of ArcelorMittal all came to the event with common objectives:

  • Meet our customers and reinforce the existing good relationships
  • Promote our products and solutions
  • Find new customers and look for new opportunities and new applications for our products
  • Watch the competition

On the 340 m² ArcelorMittal stand, each division had its own working station. The stand not only featured pictures, movies and samples, but it also included an Augmented Reality Experience with HoloLens headsets for our Automotive division. Steligence® was in the spotlight with a VR experience available for visitors. Our stand that was a place for meetings and presentations, an open space for debate on the themes of innovation and environmental sustainability, the key themes of this edition.

During the Made in Steel Awards, ArcelorMittal received the award for “Best Communication Stand” thanks to the way we delivered our message to steel operators in an immediate and direct way: with a roomy stand whose main square is a reminder of the agora concept and of a coil as well. Our stand was definitely a place for meetings and lively discussions; a well-lit space which effectively makes visitors become familiar with our activities.
