Read Stéphane Tondo’s exclusive interview in La Revue des Marques in which he shares his vision of steel as a premium material and the most appropriate solution at many levels, for both the Brands and the consumers.
On Wednesday 12 June, 3 shortlisted teams competed at the grand finale of the Steel2Pack challenge held in the headquarters of ArcelorMittal in Luxembourg.
Out of 200 teams since the contest began, the 3 remaining teams made of 2 to 3 people were invited to pitch in front of the judging panel and defend their projects. Judged on criteria as creativity, technicality, sustainability and feasibility, the MagMag team from Spain was awarded the 1st prize (a full trip to London) for its innovative concept for pet food which combines all the criteria in one.
Marina, Angela, Gemma
The 3 girls from very different backgrounds, from engineering to design and communication, tried to imagine a can that would better fit consumers lifestyle and needs.
They stood out by proposing a rectangular packaging, easily reclosable and reusable. The box would come with a recyclable spoon and allow portion control thanks to a measurement grid in its inside, something that does not exist in currently marketed steel cans.
The jury was impressed by the originality of the concept and the quality of the prototype they made as well as the upstream work of research and analysis of the market. Moreover, this pet food can could be quite easily produced. A real opportunity for change!?
Congratulations again to the 3 MagMag girls
Marina, Angela and Gemma!
